Step 0 — Understand botn

botn isn’t a heavy general-purpose CRM. It focuses on completing two loops quickly and lightly.

Booking loop booking link → intake → contact card → notes → next action → follow-up → deal Campaign loop partial import → segment → send → track replies → consult/book/quote/close

Both loops feed the contact card; the to-dos they create surface on the Today screen, so if you’re unsure where to start, just remember how those two screens relate.

Step 1 — Set up your workspace

The first time you sign in with Google, a one-time workspace setup screen appears. You decide two things here.

The public URL is permanent once set. Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are allowed. This is the address customers will see, so choose carefully.

After setup, fill in the rest of your Settingsworkspace details, and if you work as a team, send out member invites.

Step 2 — Connect contacts & import

Sign in with Google to connect your Google Contacts; existing contacts import into customer cards in one step.

Email and calendar integrations are coming soon, before our enterprise launch. Contact cards, campaigns, and bookings all work today, and email is sent automatically by our servers.

Step 3 — Import data

Bring existing customers in via Import contacts. You can pull them in from a business-card photo or a CSV file.

Don’t move everything at once. Import only the customers you’re actively selling to — that’s the core way to use botn. It’s a tool for turning on a revenue flow, not for hoarding contacts.

Imported customers carry tags you can sort by, which makes selecting campaign targets easier later.

Step 4 — Explore the core

While you have no contacts or tasks yet, the Home screen shows a “What revenue flow do you want to build?” card. Pick a flow and it takes you straight to that feature.

If you’d rather explore at your own pace, start with these screens: Contact card · Campaigns · Bookings · Revenue · Today.
