Custom fields
Every industry needs different details. Beyond the built-in fields, define your own and keep them on the contact card.
Built-in fields like name, phone and company aren’t always enough. Define your own attributes — lead source, product interest, contract tier — and keep them on contact, deal and company cards. Define once and fill the value on every card.
Define a field
Define fields in the desktop settings (More → Custom fields). Pick which object the field belongs to from the top tabs, then add it.
- Choose the object — Pick contacts, deals or companies in the tabs. Each object keeps its own field list.
- Add a field — Tap the ‘Field’ button at the bottom right, then set a name and type.
- Enter options — For dropdown or multi-select types, enter one option per line.
- Save — Once saved, the field appears on every card of that object right away.
Field types
Choose from ten types to fit your need.
- Text — A short single-line value (e.g. lead source).
- Multi-line — Longer notes-style content.
- Number — Numeric values like quantity or score.
- URL — A link address.
- Date / Date & time — Anniversaries, scheduled dates and the like.
- Dropdown / Multi-select — One or several values from preset options.
- Checkbox — A simple yes/no toggle.
- Assignee — Pick one of your workspace members.
See & fill on the card
Your fields appear on each contact card (or the matching deal/company detail) so you can fill in a value per record. Each value is saved the moment you enter it.
The assignee type picks from your workspace members; dropdown and multi-select pick from preset options. For managing members see Workspaces.
Edit & delete a field
From the field list, use ‘Edit’ to change the name, type or options, or the trash icon to delete it.
Tips for real use
- Rather than creating many at once, add only the fields you actually use, one at a time.
- For criteria you filter by often, a tag is lighter than a custom field. Use custom fields for varied detail values and tags for simple grouping.
- When you need to track stages, amounts and probabilities, use the pipeline & deals and add only deal-specific extras as custom fields.
